For a long time, we have heard nothing about artistic movements, influences or styles. The «ism» of today’s art is nothing else but amateurism with an inclination towards «chaot-ism», trying through random, bad taste attempts to express itself. Such a diversity of «isms» such as impressionism, cubism, surrealism, dadaism, lettrism remains inaccessible for our contemporaries. Is the absence of «isms” a proof of their narrow-mindedness?
This emptiness between the past and the present systematically creates the same images and the same names giving the feeling that when all is said and done, nothing has happened in the art world… Young artists «condemned» to spend their time searching for places in which to exhibit their art, growing old while still called «young»…
A magic but hypocritical formula: contemporary art from the past remains contemporary and present day contemporary art remains eternally young and never reaches its maturity. Over celebrating the values of the past leaves us incapable of appreciating the present.
Regarding its artistic past, the richer a country is, the more indifferent it will be to the art of the present. The progressive disappearance of philosophers has resulted in the absence of creation of future models.
This «fantasy» class of intellectuals who have the capacity to study and criticise models of society, to question the artistic or political orientation of society, is slowly but surely disappearing. Having lost the guidance of these «architects of the future», artists are now instinctively building their own creation.
The lack of media interest in contemporary art pushes the artist to learn to survive by himself: this is how the first worldwide Internet museum was created, gathering all kinds of art together. This worldwide museum which consists of an endless number of personal sites obliges society to revise its values and makes impossible the assimilation between the past and nowadays.
The main value of contemporary art is its relation with the reality of today's world, by which it is fed. Contemporary museums are for the living and should not become a «mausoleum» where we remember the dead. For those who have gone before, it would be better to create an «archive museum». This term should not be considered humiliating, as we are all the children of the works of past geniuses.
«Artitism» is nothing else but the renaissance of an artistic and creative imagination, an example of the evolution of the contemporary world, the natural counterweight to bureaucrats’ and the media censorship, which is nothing else than conservatism
